Italian singer Damiano David sang some verses of the song 'Deslocado' by NAPA, who represented Portugal in the Eurovision Song Contest, during his concert at the Kalorama festival, in Lisbon.

At the moment, which you can see in the video in the gallery above, the singer began by apologizing for not speaking Portuguese and said that the "only thing" he knows how to speak is the music of the Madeiran band, which, in his opinion, "should have won" the European competition.

"I'm really sorry I don't speak Portuguese. I wish I could. The only thing I know is: 'A sea of people, a different sun, a pile of concrete doesn't do anything to me'. Awesome music. I should have won Eurovision. After Italy, of course" , he said.

NAPA, who came 21st in Eurovision, responded to the Italian singer's performance on Instagram stories: "Thank you very much, Damiano David."

Although 'Deslocado' came in last place in the Eurovision final, the song has become a worldwide hit over the past few months and has entered Spotify's Global Viral charts, currently in 13th place. In total, 'Deslocado' has been streamed more than 20 million times on the streaming platform.

The song's success is mainly due to a trend on TikTok, where more than 200,000 videos have already been made with the song, with a total of more than 880 million views.

Damiano David, remember, is the lead singer of the rock band Maneskin, winner of Eurovision in 2021, with 'Zitti e Buoni'. After the victory, the band - composed of Damiano David, Victoria De Angelis, Thomas Raggi and Ethan Torchio - gained international prominence and performed in various parts of the world.

The band's latest album, 'Rush!', was released in 2023 and the artists have been embarking on solo projects over the past year. David, 26, released his first album, titled Funny Little Fears, on May 16.

The debut album by the singer, who said that "rock and roll never dies" while holding the Eurovision trophy, has a style closer to pop, which has drawn criticism. Speaking to fans in Lisbon, Damiano David said he had decided that "it's time to make music".

"Those who know me know that I come from a different musical genre. I made rock for 10 years and, after this album, I gained a lot of new fans. But a lot of people are also criticizing me because I'm not making enough rock," he said.

"I can do whatever I want, whenever I want, and I decided it's time to make music," he added.
